We now know that the Miamisburg Schools emergency alert call system reaches out to student emergency contacts, some of whom are from West Carrollton. The message that was sent by Miamisburg did not clarify what district was sending the message. We want to assure everyone that both Miamisburg and West Carrollton students are safe.

We have been made aware that Miamisburg schools are on lockdown. We don't know why, but some families from West Carrollton have been receiving a message intended for Miamisburg families that transportation will be delayed due to the lockdown. We want to assure West Carrollton School District families that this is NOT happening in West Carrollton. Our students are safe and will be arriving at bus stops at the regular time.

There are new Pirates on board! Human Resources Director, Devon Berry, and his Assistant, Lisa Green, are pictured in front of the group of new faces who will soon be in classes and/or providing services to students. Welcome!

What happens when you put kids and water together? Fun! That's exactly what happened today when the West Carrollton Fire Department came out to provide the water. The Marching Band and Pirettes provided the kids. Fun was had by all! #westcarrolltonhighschool

Every bus is cleaned inside and out. Mechanics service each bus to make sure it is in safe working order. These are things that happen all year long, including the summer! If you're interested in joining the transportation team, call 937-859-5121, ext. 7.

What's happening behind the scenes at the future West Carrollton Elementary School? Walls are going up, but there's still a lot of work to be done. The building will house students in grades two through four and is scheduled to open for the 2025-26 school year. The Elementary School is one of two buildings in Phase II of the building project. The other is the West Carrollton Middle/High School which is scheduled to open for the 2026-27 school year. Phase I was construction of the West Carrollton Early Childhood Center that houses preschool through first grade students and West Carrollton Intermediate School that houses fifth and sixth grade students.

District Treasurer, Ryan Slone, swore in new School Board member, Angie Shockley, prior to the beginning of the June 12, 2024 School Board member. Shockley has been a long-time resident and was involved in many school activities when her son attended West Carrollton Schools. Her involvement continued even after his graduation, and she is excited to support the district as a School Board member.
