Students are out of school today, but staff is busy for Quality Professional Training. We took a peek through the window of a conference room to see some of the training happening!

What was on the roof at Schnell this morning? It appears to be a mischievous elf! The school principal is still missing. Where is Mr. Thobe?

An elf was seen at Schnell this morning! Apparently he got tangled in some lights. We are still searching for the school principal. Where is Mr. Thobe?

We love acts of kindness! We just received a donation of over 100 coats from local company, Domtar, in different sizes and colors! A big thank you to Domtar for continuing to support our students and schools!

There were some Grinch sightings at the ECC today! Not to worry! The little Who's were enough to make everyone smile!

It's the season of giving, and High School students were participating in a blood drive. Did you know that students who give blood in High School are more likely to continue to do so as adults?

Shhhhh. Students at Schnell are doing IReady testing. Test results provide teachers with data to measure each student's academic progress. Results also assist teachers in determining if a student or group of students needs assistance in a specific subject.

Can you keep pace? AJ from the Intermediate School can! He completed 100 laps on the PACER (Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run). The PACER test is a multi-stage running test that measures an individual's aerobic capacity. The test involves running 20-meter shuttles back and forth across a marked track while keeping time with beeps. The time between beeps gets shorter each minute, requiring participants to run faster. The test ends when a participant fails to reach the marker in time for the second time. Physical Education and Health Teacher, Jen Moran, said, “this is so rare. I saw this happen about 20 years ago so I’m extremely proud of him!”

Middle School Student Council members helped pack up the food items collected at the school for the annual food drive this morning. Over 5,000 items were collected!

We continue to celebrate Special Education Day! Students learn and think in different ways, and we want to recognize the uniqueness in every child. We also want to recognize what we all have in common. Smiles!

It was a feast in the Intermediate School life skills classroom today! Students made mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, stuffing and pumpkin pie. The best part was enjoying the food with friends!

WARNING - Minions have taken over the library at the Early Childhood Center. Be on the lookout for students having extra fun!

A cow? On a bus? The Butterfly Bus that transports students to and from the Early Childhood Center has adopted Peony through discoverydairy.com that allows students to follow the life of a calf throughout the school year. Some classrooms in the district have adopted a calf, but this is the first time a calf has been adopted by a bus! Fortunately, Peony visits the kids via pictures so no extra bus cleaning is involved.

You may not see windows now, but they are on site and will soon be installed at the new West Carrollton Elementary. Workers are taking advantage of the weather as they work on the exterior of the building. The building will be open in less than a year and will welcome second through fourth graders for the 2025-26 school year!

Early voting was happening yesterday. The lines to vote were long, but voters were happy to wait and eager to cast their ballot. Early polls showed a close race, but in the end, Duck won in a landslide against Farmer Brown.

Let's start the week with kindness!

Thank you to the West Carrollton Fire Department for making this a special day for Harper and Mia from Schnell and Colton and Miriam from Russell!

It's a special morning for these kids from Schnell! They are having breakfast with West Carrollton firefighters! We will have more pictures later from this special event.

Students in Ms. Rosholt's Middle School class tried out their pumpkin carving skills! It was a little messy, but lots of fun!

Guess who loves to read? Kindergarten students! Reading is the foundation of learning! The more you read, the more you can succeed!
