Meet Payton. She has been a Pirate since preschool. Being a Pirate is something she learned from her mom who is a WC graduate, and her entire family has always been involved in school activities.
Payton went to the Miami Valley Career Technology Center (CTC) beginning in her Junior year.
She said, “Cosmetology is something I’m interested in, and I wanted to get a jump start in that career.” Payton is a member of the CTC National Honor Society and has already passed her board certification for cosmetology.
While attending the CTC, she maintained her ties to the High School by attending activities and events and was a familiar face in the crowd cheering for the Pirates. She participated in extracurricular activities including bowling and the Spring Musical (The Addams Family was her favorite). During her Senior year, she was Captain of the bowling team and received an Honorable Mention from the Miami Valley League. Payton said, “I want to thank Coach Oller. She stepped up to be the bowling coach.”
Following graduation, Payton plans to spend the summer traveling and going to concerts with her family. She will then begin working at High Maintenance Salon in Kettering where she interned. Her 10-year goal is to have her own salon.
Congratulations Payton! You will always be a Pirate!
