Class of 2025 Senior Spotlight

Meet Maddie. She has been a Pirate since kindergarten. She plans to attend the University of Dayton to major in political science. Maddie has already received the Father Chaminade Scholarship to help with the cost of college.

The College Credit Plus courses she has taken will also give her an advantage. She has already taken Composition, English, Art, Intro to American Politics, Intro to Psychology, Environmental Science, Intro to Sociology, Business Communication, Critical Thinking, and Ethics. She will use her education to obtain her 10-year goal of becoming a lawyer.

Although she has had a busy academic schedule, she found time to participate in the National Honor Society, bowling, and yearbook while in High School. Maddie competed in the regional Business Professionals of America (BPA) competition in 2024 in Administration and Support Concepts, Business Law and Ethics, and Prepared Speech. Her performance at the regional competition qualified her to compete in the state competition where she qualified for the national competition. In 2025, she qualified for the state and then the national competition in Business Law and Ethics.

Maddie says she will miss her teachers. She said Mr. Grosvenor has helped her since her freshman year; Mr. Reynolds believed in her even when she didn’t believe in herself; and Mrs. Carlisle supported her even when she didn’t have her class.

Her advice to incoming freshmen is, “Listen to your teachers. They have your best interests at heart,” and “Even when you think you know better, you don’t.”  Congratulations Maddie! You will always be a Pirate!
