Meet Kirah. She has been a Pirate since preschool. She plans to continue her education at the University of Dayton to major in pre-med and minor in neuroscience. Her goal is to become a neurologist.
Kirah has already taken College Credit Plus classes in Environmental Science, Calculus, and Composition. During High School, she has participated in the National Honor Society, Mural Club, Arpeggio, Robotics, and Bowling. Kirah loves music and one of her hobbies is collecting vinyls. She plays the viola and has had the honor of playing with the Dayton Philharmonic.
Kirah credits Orchestra teacher, Mrs. Ericson, for giving her a passion for music and says, “She is the reason I’m going to college.” Science teacher, Mr. Newman, also gave her inspiration and she said, “He’s the reason I want to major in pre-med.” She also said Social Studies teacher, Mr. Hauk, “made history enjoyable,” and Language Arts teacher, Mr. Earl, “was someone I could talk to about life, orchestra and music.”
What she has loved about being in West Carrollton Schools is the sense of community, diversity, and meeting so many different people. Her advice for incoming freshmen is to keep busy, stay on top of things, and keep moving forward. Her 10-year goal is to be Dr. Graham. She also plans to continue playing the viola and would like to come back and teach younger students about music. Congratulations Kirah! You will always be a Pirate! #westcarrolltonclassof202
