Senior Spotlight

Meet Kassidy. She has been a Pirate since kindergarten and is now in the top 10 of her Senior class with over a 4.0 GPA.

“Teachers don’t get enough praise for what they do.” Kassidy said Mr. Hauk and Mrs. Lohn impacted how she views education and gave her an appreciation for social studies and science. She plans to pursue a career in forensic science and has been accepted into multiple schools including the University of Dayton where she would like to attend.

By the time she graduates, she will have completed College Credit Plus courses in Composition, Psychology and Spanish I, II and III. She has already received the Governor’s Merit Scholarship and looks forward to receiving additional scholarships to assist with college costs. In the meantime, she is enjoying High School.

“You’re not going to get these years back,” she said. “I like to stay busy, otherwise I don’t feel like I’m getting the most out of my High School experience.” Kassidy has been involved in Yearbook, Student Council, National Honor Society, Business Professionals of America, Academic Challenge Team, Book Club and Drama Club and she is Vice President of the Student Body.

Two of her favorite activities have been participating in the Fall Dramas and Spring Musicals where she has performed on stage and been part of the productions, including directing and doing makeup. She loves reading and created a Staff and Student Picks section in the library. Outside of school, she is an entrepreneur and has had her own bakery business since she was 7.

“I’m going to miss this place. It’s my Senior year. It’s special.” Congratulations Kassidy! You will always be a Pirate!
